British mezzo-soprano, Stephanie Windsor-Lewis, completed her studies as a young artist at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna. Prior to this she studied at the Benjamin Britten International Opera School at the Royal College of Music.
Operatic engagements have included ‘Suzuki’ Puccini Madame Butterfly for English National Opera and the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, ‘Rosina’ Rossini Il Barbiere di Siviglia & ‘Madama Rosa’ Donizetti Il Campanello, for Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, ‘Rosmira’ Handel Partenope for the English National Opera, ‘Cesca’ Puccini Gianni Schicchi for the Opera di Firenze, & ’Lucia’ Rossini La gazza ladra at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, , ‘Giovanna Seymour’ Donizetti Anna Bolena at The Metropolitan Opera in New York (understudy), La Macchina by Raffaele Grimaldi for the Biennale di Venezia and Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo, ‘Meg Page’ Verdi Falstaff Longborough Opera/Opera Project, ‘Carmen’ Bizet, ’Cenerentola’ Rossini Cenerentola, ‘Ottavia’ L’incoronazione di Poppea, and ‘Baba the Turk’ Stravinsky The Rake’s Progress.
Stephanie’s concert engagements include a gala concert with the esteemed tenor Josè Carreras in Singapore, Berio’s Sinfonia for the Lucerne Festival with Pierre Boulez, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at the Barbican Centre with the Royal Philharmonic, and Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem and Vivaldi’s Gloria at the Royal Albert Hall.
She won first prizes in the Benvenuto Franci competition in Pienza and the Premio Crescendo Competition in Florence.
