Biography

Beca Davies is a mezzo-soprano from West Wales, and a recent graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Beca recently created the role of Meinir in the world premiere of Cyfrinach y Brenin by Mared Emlyn for OPRA Cymru. Other new music projects include Miss Bourne/Julia Price in Paul Crabtree’s The Ghost Train (UK premiere, St Magnus International Festival) and the title role in Marco Galvani’s Helena (World premiere, Tête-à-Tête Festival). Other notable engagements include Mary Ann in Ethel Smyth’s The Boatswain’s Mate (Spectra Ensemble); Lola Cavalleria rusticana (Edinburgh Studio Opera); Cherubino Le nozze di Figaro; Bridget Booth in Robert Ward’s The Crucible (Berlin Opera Academy). Beca is really looking forward to performing with Mid Wales Opera in this production of Hansel and Gretel.
