Alex is a graduate of the Royal College of Music where she won the Fanny Hughes Bassoon Prize for two consecutive years, playing Principal Bassoon in college orchestras and ensembles. She has played regularly with the BBC Symphony, BBC Philharmonic, BBC Concert, CBSO, RTE National Symphony, Brighton Philharmonic, London Opera Players, London Concertante, Longborough Festival Opera and Opera Project. She has given numerous recitals and premieres of new work across the UK with her trio The Thorne Trio, and played in MWO’s three previous SmallStages tours of The Bear, L’heure espagnole and Mrs Peachum’s Guide to Love and Marriage. She is a Professor at the Royal College of Music.
