Monica McGhee is an alumna of the RCS, RCM and National Opera Studio. Recent roles include Iolanta Iolanta (If Opera), Leïla (cover) Les Pêcheurs des perles (Opera North), Soprano Soloist Highlights Tour (Scottish Opera), Blumenmädchen (cover) Parsifal (Opera North), Belle Lurette Belle Lurette (New Sussex Opera), Donna Anna Don Giovanni (Dorset Opera Festival), Mimi La bohème (Kensington Symphony Orchestra). Monica made her Opera Rara recording debut last season as Francesco in Offenbach’s La Princesse de Trébizonde. She has performed as a soloist at The Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Bridgewater Hall, The Barbican, Glasgow City Halls and Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Monica was a finalist in the Tenor Viñas competition in January 2021, the 2016 Susan Chilcott Award and the 2011 and 2014 Les Azuriales Opera Competition.
