A Garden Concert

Roll Up! Roll Up! And join the Friends of Mid Wales Opera as we embark on a journey into the enchanting world of “Commedia dell’arte” or “Carnival!” at Gregynog Hall, near Newtown!

Join us on Sunday 21st July, 2024, at 5pm, as we are transported into a jubilant jubilee of music and opera under the direction of the magnificent Charlotte Forrest, our maestro of melodies and master of the ivories!

This evening of live music and song promises to be a jubilant celebration of music and opera, featuring characters from Italian comedic tradition. Whether under the open sky amidst the resplendent gardens or within the hallowed halls of the Music Room, our spectacular showcase will dazzle you!

Secure your tickets in advance, for they may vanish faster than a rabbit in a magician’s hat!

There will be a long interval in which to enjoy your picnic or take a walk around the glorious Grade 1 Listed gardens or further afield into the ancient woodland. The cafe at the Hall will be open before the concert so why not arrive early and make a long afternoon of it!

We invite audience members to join in with us in making it an evening to remember by dressing up as the colourful and eccentric characters from the Italian comic tradition. Have fun with your costumes and don’t be afraid to be bold and theatrical! The theme is to embrace the spirit of “Commedia dell’arte” and bring these vibrant characters to life with your costume choices.
